The shamaness had called for her in front the of Seida, the sacred runestones, before being struck down by the Viking pillagers.  Sárahkká, the Saami Goddess and protector of women, appeared and stood at the bridge before the village.   Sword in hand she glared at the men and told them to leave now or she would personally bring them to Helheim itself.  This village and all the forest surrounding it are under her protection.
