It is the best non bias group that has to do with porn in Second Life, everyone is welcome. No one in the group is silenced or has privileges revoked without warning or explanation of what rules they violated.

Open enrollment, the group is relatively new; it started in January 2012 and has over 450 members, most are very active in Second Life.  Over 40 Directors and 50 photographers in the group

The group will give you information about Casting calls, Photo Shoots, Pictorial Releases, Movie Release, and Parties. Use it along with this blog to stay informed about what is going on is Second Life porn.

Chapter 7, How to be a SL Porn Star

Make a Flickr account

Go to www.flickr.com and make an account. The free account you can post up to 200 pictures, which is really all you need because no one is going to look through 200 pictures and if you have more than 200 pictures this at least forces you to clean out the old unwanted ones. If you feel you can’t part with old pictures once you hit 200, pay the $24.95 a year for the unlimited account.

Then put a link to your flickr page on the first page of your SL profile. The reason for this is because anyone serious about having you work (Pose) for them is going to want to see more than your profile picture and not want to do a bunch of hunting to find samples of your work. This is especial good for the ones that are starting out and don’t have a large catalog of movies to show.

You might start out posting pictures you have clicked of your avatar (see chapter3), but eventually (as you get more work) post the ones that are more professionally done.

The basic account is free and just about everyone in SL porn has a flickr page. Plus it’s another networking tool, people add you as a contact and you added them and you each get a little notice when something new happens to each other accounts. Also “favorite” pictures on people’s accounts will help get you noticed because it’s like giving a complement (and everyone likes complements).

You’re in porn, you’re a model or even photographer, you need a popular place to show your accomplishments.

Chapter 14, How to be a SL Porn Star

Do not go exclusive!

 The only reasons I could ever see to go exclusive with a studio is if the director is your lover/partner or you’re being paid and guaranteed a specific amount of shoots!!! 

Do your home work and do the math, if a studio is producing 2 projects a week using 3 girls in each that means 6 girls are working each week, A studio with just 18 girls in it and a even rotation each girl well get her turn every 3 weeks!! 3 weeks is a long time, a good freelance model can work every day if she wants and makes good contacts.

Also keep in mind unforeseen events can happen! Illness, death, dissolved partnerships and mood swing can ruin a studio. What you thought was solid could be gone the next day. If you're one of the girls that keeps repeatably  being told, "I'll get you in a shoot next week". Next week may never come and you wasted the time that you should of been in shoots, cultivation contacts and making friendships with other directors that might want to use you in their projects.

You are your own person and SL is suppose to be fun, why give the control of when or if you do porn to one studio? Don't isolate yourself!

Chapter 3, How to be a SL Porn Star

Make your own porn

I use 3 different viewers right now, one for everyday life, one set for photography and one set for filming movies, and each one of these viewers has a camera! So you have no excuse not to take some pictures. Sure everyone’s not cut out to be a photographer, but the more familiar you make yourself with the camera, controls and editing the more confident you will become. 

If you look at the big names in SL Porn most of them make their own porn, photos or movies, it helps keep your name active rather than waiting for some one to cast you and it gives you something to do rather than get discouraged and and fade away like so many do.

So then all you really need to do is convince someone to pose with you. I don’t know how everyone else scores it but to me if you have sex on film (pictures count) you’re a porn star!

Making movies is a little more difficult, you can get free trial download software of just about everything you need to make a film. Then watch how your favorite director’s movies are shot and emulate them. Everyone’s style is different and none is either right or wrong, it’s all a matter of taste.

I will say I spend around 5 times more time editing a film then the time it takes to film it. Also there is time spent on storyline, set building, props, wardrobe and most importantly it all has to be set around the animation you have at your disposal.

How to be a SL Porn Star

I know, many have already done this, and I think I read them all when I first got interested in being a porn star.
So here are my suggestions:
Chapter 6, Go to parties!!!

Parties are a great way to be seen!! I mean if you were a real live want to be actor/actress, would you pass up a party with Steven Spielberg and Leonardo Dicaprio? I know it’s not the same thing, but in SL porn terms it is.

I have seen many people chatting in group, so parties are a great way to put faces with names. Mingle a little but don’t harass or put anyone on the spot, if you stand out in the crowd, director & producers will come to you! But of course be courteous, polite and say hello , treat everyone with kindness and respect, because you never know who you might be talking to.

Party pictures,

Party picture should show (1) the overall view of the party, (2) club owner(s), (3) DJ, (4) Host and (5) some moderate pictures of ALL the party guest. So if your there you should show up in some of the picture even if you’re not the main focal point.

One reason our Hump-day parties are successful, is that people do come just to have pictures taken of them, the naughtier they are the more pictures are taken of them.

 For some I think the parties and pictures are the first porn that many of them have done.

 So get out there, be seen and have fun!!! And nudity is always good (at the right parties), it saves directors & producers that are interested, from having to ask you to get naked later when casting. Plus if you want to be a porn star get use to people seeing you nude!!
